Google plus a ghost town?

Google+ a ghost town?

By Unhindered by Talen

I was reading a post about Google+  becoming a ghost town and thought about my behavior since joining it.  I joined Google Plus as soon as I could get an invite.

I have found many technical articles and posts that I have enjoyed.  I also found technical luminaries that I was happy to follow and placed them into a circle.  I found the idea a vast improvement over the lack of discrimination of who was in my New Feed on Facebook.   Facebook recently fixed this issue.  I feel in response to Google Plus, and it’s circles.

Timeline Preview

Bryan Broussard | Create Your Badge

I just recently enabled the Facebook Timeline preview and I am liking the layout and the way it works.  What I do not see is where the news feed or a similar mechanism will be located.  In the developer preview, you see what it looks like, and everyone else see’s your profile as normal.  Is the timeline a replacement for our present profile, with the news feed kept about the same?
